Month Three

Dear Henry,

Today you are three months old!  That is a whole quarter of a year!  You are no longer considered a newborn and have officially entered infanthood!  Congratulations!

You have started giggling (be still my heart!), although I've only heard it in the wild a few times.  You think the word "boo!" is hilarious, but are not quite as entertained by a rousing game of Peek-A-Boo (truly, you started crying - eventually you will have object permanence).  You enjoy going on walks, whether in the stroller or mei tai (although I always favor the mei tai for the extra snuggles it provides).   You are starting to pay attention to toys more and will hold/shake a rattle if we put it in your hand for you.

This past month was your first "big" holiday.  You met the Easter Bunny and you were as cool as a cucumber.  Your Aunt Brandi bought you a seersucker pant/vest combo to coordinate with Liam - it was beyond adorable!  The whole affair turned into an awkward family photo when Mom swooped in and grabbed you, because Mr. Bunny couldn't seem to keep you upright enough to actually get your face in the photo.  You will learn in due time that your mother is a control freak.

Now that I am back to work full-time, I feel like every day is a rush to get in as many snuggles and cuddles as possible, while still trying to take care of all of the boring stuff that comes with life.  30 minutes in the morning, 30 at lunch, a few hours after work.  The weekends are my favorite, but are never long enough.  Grandma Hayworth gave me this wonderful cross-stitch.  I will hang it in your room and I hope it will serve as a reminder to put the laundry down, and pick you up every chance I get.  Because I am learning that babies don't keep.

Love,
Mama
