Month Four

Dear Henry,

This past Friday, you turned four months old.  Like all the other months, this one went by too fast!

This month, you are developing a serious sense of humor.  You giggle when you are surprised and still love the word "boo!"  You are starting to explore with your voice and will lay in your crib in the morning chatting away while Mama & Dad get ready for work.  You have a Sock Monkey lovey whose face is all too familiar with your mouth.  Well kid, let's be honest, almost anything that comes within a one foot radius of your head is all too familiar with your mouth.  Basically, you love putting things in your mouth.

Your favorite toy at the moment is your chain of plastic rings.  Your grasp is getting pretty accurate now and you can grab a rattle on your own.  You are moving into 3-6 month size clothes and have the best thigh rolls and elbow dimples.  You have gone mostly bald on top and your eyes seem to be settling on a beautiful shade of brown.  You still have an uncanny knack for peeing less than 5 minutes after we change your diaper, but have taken to only pooping in Grandma Schmidt's presence. (By the way, thanks for that!)

Every day is a new adventure with you, Mr. Henry, and watching you grow and learn is my absolute favorite thing to do.  Some days, when we get home from Grandma's, your Dad will call down the stairs, "Is that the sound of a family?"  And it is, buddy.  And this proud mama can't wait to see what other noises this family can make.

Love,
Mama
